Fix Something Broken

   Find something broken

   Wobbly chair leg, jammed drawer, loose toy, torn book, dead flashlight. Get permission first.

   Diagnose before you touch

   Look at it from every angle. Draw it in your notebook. Circle the part that's wrong.

   Write your guess

   'I think it broke because ___.' Even if you're wrong, guessing sharpens your eyes.

   Take it apart carefully

   Line up screws and parts on paper in the ORDER you removed them. That's how you'll put it back.

   Fix or replace

   Tighten, glue, retie, sand, or swap the bad part. Only fix ONE thing at a time.

   Put it back

   Reverse order. Slow is fast. Tighten screws snug — not tight enough to strip.

   Test it

   Does it work? Log what fixed it and what didn't. That log is worth more than the repair.
