quest · cosmic cadets
Tonight, when it's dark, take paper outside. Old astronomers kept sky journals — start yours, with a grown-up out there with you.
A grown-up works with you and owns a few steps of this quest.
🧑 The grown-up owns: Picks the spot, stays outside for the whole session, and handles being out after dark.
what you'll need
safety · Being outside after dark is the risky part of this quest, not the stargazing. Stay in the spot your grown-up picked, keep them in sight the whole time, and never wander off in the dark or cross a road to get a better view. Watch your footing — uneven ground is invisible at night.
🧑 grown-up does
These steps belong to the grown-up. Grab a grown-up.
1. Pick the spot
A yard, driveway, balcony, or a park you already know well. Away from traffic, water, drop-offs, and strangers. No new locations after dark.
2. Stay outside the whole session
You're out there for all 30–45 minutes. Bring a phone and a real flashlight; let the Sk8er keep the red light for their eyes.
3. Call the weather and the time
Check the forecast, decide the start and end time, and make the call to head in early if it turns cold, wet, or windy.
Read the safety badge and the grown-up steps together before you start.
