Paint your Deck

   Pick a story

   Favorite creature? Weirdest dream? A word that means everything to you? Write it down in one sentence.

   Sketch on paper

   Trace the deck outline on paper first. Design at full size. Draft in pencil, then commit in marker.

   Sand and clean

   Light sanding across the bottom of the deck. Wipe with a damp cloth. Let dry fully.

   Prime the board

   One thin coat of white primer. Let dry 30 minutes. Repeat if you can still see the wood.

5. 5

   Transfer your design

   Sketch it lightly onto the primed deck. Redraw as many times as you need.

   Paint big to small

   Background colors first. Big shapes next. Fine details last. Let each layer dry before the next.

7. 7

   Clear coat + cure

   Two thin clear coat layers, 10 minutes apart. Let the deck cure overnight before you ride.

8. 8

   Photograph and share

   Take a photo in good light. Post it to the Spark Studio art wall.
