Plain-language notice — describes how Sk8erz works today.
This page is written to match the site as it actually operates, and is kept updated as the site changes. It is not legal advice, has not been reviewed by an attorney, and makes no certification or compliance claim. Anything not yet decided is listed openly at the bottom of the page rather than stated as if it were settled.
Sk8erz Library aims to be usable by as many young explorers and grown-ups as possible. This notice describes what is implemented today and does not claim a formal conformance level.
What is implemented today
- Interactive controls are real buttons and links, so they can be reached and activated with a keyboard, and they show a visible focus outline.
- Motion respects your system's "reduce motion" setting: animated presentation, including Roam's gentle movement, settles to a still state.
- Music never starts by itself, and a music control is always available so a track can be muted.
- Roam can be dismissed, and nothing in the Library requires Roam to be used.
- Layouts are responsive and work on phones, tablets and desktops.
- Back and Back-to-Top controls are available on content pages.
- Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text.
- Colour and contrast are chosen for readability on the Library's dark environments.
What we do not claim
Sk8erz Library has not completed a formal external accessibility audit, so no specific WCAG conformance level is claimed. Some richly illustrated environments, the Art Wall and the avatar builder are known to be more visual than textual, and improvements there are ongoing.
Telling us about a barrier
If something on Sk8erz Library is hard or impossible to use, please tell us using the Sk8erz contact address published on the site. Describe the page and what happened, and we will look into it and try to offer another way to get the same thing done.
Owner decisions still required
- Whether to commission a formal accessibility audit before launch, and which conformance target to aim for.
- The published accessibility contact address and target response time.
- Whether captions/transcripts are needed for any future audio or video content.
- Effective date and review cadence.
