Website & Safety Disclaimer
Plain-language notice — describes how Sk8erz works today.
This page is written to match the site as it actually operates, and is kept updated as the site changes. It is not legal advice, has not been reviewed by an attorney, and makes no certification or compliance claim. Anything not yet decided is listed openly at the bottom of the page rather than stated as if it were settled.
Sk8erz Library is an exploration and learning site. This page explains what our content is, what it is not, and how the quest safety system works.
Educational and exploratory
Quests, guides, Ways of Knowing notes and Roam's scripted lines are written to help young explorers think, build, observe and create. They are general educational content, not professional advice — not medical, psychological, legal, financial, engineering, construction, electrical, veterinary or emergency advice. If you need professional advice, speak to a qualified person.
Quest safety classifications
Every quest carries a difficulty tier and a safety level. The safety level tells you who is responsible for which steps:
- 🟢 A young explorer can generally do this independently.
- 🟡 A grown-up should be nearby and involved.
- 🔴 A grown-up leads the risky steps.
- ⚫ The step is grown-up-owned. A child must not perform it.
Steps marked as grown-up-owned — for example anything involving fire, blades, heat, power tools, chemicals, heights, water, or roads — are for an adult to carry out. Roam will not talk a child through a grown-up-owned step, and nothing on this page overrides those instructions.
Adult supervision
A grown-up decides whether any activity is appropriate for their child, their child's ability, and their setting, and supervises accordingly. Grown-ups are responsible for choosing, supervising and adapting activities.
Environments and materials differ
We cannot see your space, your tools, your materials, the weather, the terrain, local wildlife, allergies, or local rules and laws. Substituting materials or tools changes the risk. Check for allergies and sensitivities. Follow local rules, including where skating is permitted, and use appropriate protective equipment.
Skating, outdoors and physical activity
Skateboarding and outdoor exploration carry a real risk of injury. Sk8erz Library does not supervise, instruct, or assess anyone's readiness for physical activity, and participation is at your own risk under grown-up supervision.
Art Wall content
Approved Art Wall artwork is created by young explorers and reviewed by Sk8erz before publication. Review is human and imperfect; if you see something that should not be there, use the in-site flag control or contact Sk8erz.

Where Sk8erz links to anything outside the Library, we do not control that content and are not responsible for it.
Owner decisions still required
- Whether counsel wants an explicit assumption-of-risk acknowledgement for physical quests, and where it should appear.
- Final liability wording, coordinated with the Terms of Use.
- Whether any quest tier requires a written grown-up acknowledgement before the quest is shown.
- Published safety contact address and effective date.
