Terms of Use
Plain-language notice — describes how Sk8erz works today.
This page is written to match the site as it actually operates, and is kept updated as the site changes. It is not legal advice, has not been reviewed by an attorney, and makes no certification or compliance claim. Anything not yet decided is listed openly at the bottom of the page rather than stated as if it were settled.
These terms describe how Sk8erz Library may be used today, who is responsible for what, and what happens to artwork submitted to the Art Wall.
Using the Library
Sk8erz Library is an educational and exploratory website for explorers roughly ages 8–15. Membership is free, costs $0, and no purchase is required to explore, complete quests, or have artwork considered for the Art Wall.
The grown-up's role
Any account is held by a grown-up (parent or legal guardian). A grown-up authorizes protected activities on a child's behalf, keeps their sign-in details private, and is responsible for activity under their account. Children should not create accounts.
Educational and informational nature
Quests, guides and companion text are provided for learning and exploration. They are not professional advice. See the Website & Safety Disclaimer.
Acceptable use
- Do not submit anything unsafe, hateful, sexual, violent, or harassing.
- Do not submit other people's work as your own, or work you do not have rights to.
- Do not include personal contact details, addresses, school names, or identifiable photographs of children in submitted artwork or titles.
- Do not attempt to break, scan, overload, scrape or bypass access controls on the site.
- Do not use the site to contact, solicit or gather information about children.
Sk8erz content
Sk8erz Library's name, the Sk8erz "8", the Wild 8, Roam the Ostragon, the Worlds, artwork, environments, music, quest writing and site design belong to Sk8erz Library or its licensors. You may use the site as intended, but you may not copy, resell, republish, or create merchandise from Sk8erz content without written permission.
Children keep their own artwork
A child keeps ownership of the creative work they make. By having a grown-up submit and authorize a piece of artwork, you give Sk8erz a limited, non-exclusive permission to store it privately, review it, and — if approved — display it on the public Art Wall alongside the chosen display nickname and avatar, together with reasonable technical copies needed to display it.
This permission does not include merchandise, printing, product sales, advertising, or commercial licensing of a child's artwork. Any such use would require a separate, explicit agreement with the grown-up. Artist Boards and any artist compensation programme are not active and no revenue share is offered or implied.
Moderation and removal
Every Art Wall submission is reviewed by Sk8erz before it can appear publicly, and Sk8erz may approve, return, decline, or later remove any submission at its discretion — particularly for safety reasons. A grown-up may request removal of their child's artwork at any time. Sk8erz may suspend or close an account for breaches of these terms.
Quests and safety
Quests carry safety classifications and some steps are marked as grown-up-owned. Those classifications and instructions must be followed. Nothing in these terms reduces them.
Shop
Sk8erz Library Shop is the retailer. Sk8erz merch is sold by Sk8erz through our own hosted storefront, which processes payment, tax and shipping; Sk8erz does not collect card details on this site. Board Shop items are not orderable yet, and any item marked as a demo entry is not for sale. Buying anything is adult-only and changes nothing about a child's access, badges, Runes or Art Wall placement. See Shop Terms and Returns & Refunds.
Availability, disclaimers and limits
The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Sk8erz does not promise uninterrupted availability or that content is free of errors. The final limitation-of-liability, indemnity, governing-law and dispute provisions are left for counsel to complete.
Changes and contact
These terms will change before launch. Questions go to the Sk8erz contact address published on the site.
Owner decisions still required
- Legal entity name, jurisdiction and governing law; dispute resolution approach.
- Final limitation of liability, warranty disclaimer and indemnity wording (counsel).
- Whether Sk8erz ever wants a separate, opt-in artwork licence for merchandise — and on what terms.
- Account suspension/appeal process wording.
- Published contact address and effective date.
